DESCRIPTION:Human-Centered Process-Oriented Intro to Programming (Dr. Geral
 d Soosairaj\, UC San Diego). GenAI has transformed intro programming\, red
 ucing learning to a transactional\, process that erodes engagement. In res
 ponse\, we redesigned our CS1 course to emphasize human-centered\, process
 -oriented learning. We integrated TA-led social study groups\, replaced au
 tomated assignments with collaborative handwritten work\, and required stu
 dents to keep process journals documenting their problem-solving. Prelimin
 ary results show improved social interaction and engagement with learning.
