Marilyn Houlberg, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, shows arts of the major female Voudou divinities (Ezilis) and discusses the recent impact of Mami Wata’s snake charmer image on Vodou beliefs and practices. This lecture is held in conjunction with the exhibition "Mami Wata: Arts for Water Spirits in Africa and Its Diasporas."
