Description
This is a colloquium about philosophical method. It identifies what appears to be a perennial disagreement between Humeans and Kantians about a substantive claim in action theory. It argues this apparent disagreement is a breakdown of conversation, one that is traceable to a much more fundamental disagreement about what a theory of action is supposed to do. It takes this as an opportunity to explain the distinctive way in which Kant and Kantians approach the theory of action.
