“City hanok,” or traditional-style Korean houses, became popular in Korean cities in the middle of the 20th century. Writer, translator, and linguist Robert J. Fouser will focus on the history and development of city hanok as a unique genre of housing, along with efforts to preserve city hanok amid strong pressure toward high-density redevelopment in Seoul.
