Guest artist Chris Elam, artistic director of Misnomer Dance Theater in New York, approaches his work from the viewpoint of an ethnographer as well as a choreographer. Elam will talk about how his studies of traditional dances inform the technical and conceptual complexity of his contemporary choreography.
