Description
Join WISCAPE for a conversation with Sasānēhsaeh M. Pyawasay, the Native American student success coordinator for the UW System. Dr. Pyawasay will discuss how colleges and universities operate as modern-day “boarding schools,” similar to the boarding schools established in the late 19th to mid 20th centuries with the goal of assimilating Native children. She will also address how administrators, staff, and faculty can help mitigate educational inequalities for their Native students.
