Description
This lecture by Robert O. Freedman, Johns Hopkins, details how, in the nearly sixty-one years of its existence, Israel has faced numerous challenges: the integration of immigrants, the need to develop a military force of sufficient strength, creating an economic system, balancing between synagogue and state, working out a modus vivendi with Israel’s Arab minority, securing peace with Israel’s Arab neighbors, and maintaining a political system sufficiently flexible to meet these challenges.
