On March 11, 2020 the Center for Research on the Wisconsin Economy will host a debate on “Socialism, Social Democracy, and Capitalism: Which is Right for America?” From the electoral politics of Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to the growing positive views expressed in opinion surveys, “socialism” appears to have captured a large segment of the American imagination.
