Description
Based on the true story of the "Daylight Demon," a serial rapist and murderer who attacked his victims in broad daylight in the 1950s. Widely considered one of Oshima's masterpieces, the film features a kinetic and fragmented editing style and a time-fractured narrative -- which drew comparisons to the French New Wave -- in order to explore the criminal's psychosis and his victims' traumatic memories. New 35mm print. Japanese with English subtitles, Japan, 1966, b/w, 99 min.
