Western Percussion Ensemble

A concert featuring works from the dawning years of percussion chamber music. The program will feature George Antheil's controversial work "Ballet Mécanique," which was originally written for the film of the same name. Though the music was never used in production for this program, the film will be presented preceding the performance of this unique and, at times, bombastic composition. Other works included are by Harrison, Beyer, Strang and Hovhaness.
