Description
Rupert Klein is a professor at the Free University of Berlin. In his research, Klein develops and employs techniques of multi-scale asymptotic analysis, numerical simulation, and combinations thereof to improve understanding of physical phenomena. This talk will first report on extensions of the asymptotic theory for strongly tilted atmospheric vortices in [1,2] by boundary layer effects. Secondly, the talk will summarize a spin-off theory: QG-DL-Ekman theory.
