Event Details
The 2024 Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month Planning Committee is proud to partner with WUD Cuisine to present our Keynote for UW-Madison’s 2024 APIDA Heritage Month: Conversations and Cooking with Priya Krishna.
A Food Staff Reporter with the New York Times, Priya hosts On the Job, an online video series that looks at labor in the food industry. She has been nominated for a James Beard award and an International Association of Culinary Professionals award and was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2021. She is also the bestselling author of Indian-ish and Cooking at Home. This April, keep an eye out for her new book: a globe-trotting cookbook for children, Priya’s Kitchen Adventures.
Priya advocates that food serves as a catalyst for sociopolitical engagement and fostering cross cultural understanding. Please join us and Priya for our APIDA Heritage month Keynote Event, featuring a live cooking demo and moderated Q&A in Varsity Hall, Union South, on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 6:30 PM. Doors open at 6:00 PM (reserved seats will be held until 6:15 PM, at which point those without reservations will be admitted if there is space remaining, first come, first served). After the event, Priya’s cookbooks will be on sale and she will be available for autographs. RSVP at the link below.
This is an official APIDA Heritage Month event organized by the APIDA Heritage Month Planning Committee, which is part of the Multicultural Student Center.
