Description
Join us for a screening of The Man Died, a powerful adaptation of Wole Soyinka’s prison memoir set during Nigeria’s civil war. It traces his nearly 2 year imprisonment and how writing became an act of resistance. Blending personal narrative with political history, it is a compelling testament to artistic freedom and speaking truth to power.
The director will also deliver a talk on the film as the 7th Tejumola Olaniyan Memorial Lecture at the Africa at Noon lecture series on April 22.
