Description
Lecture by Professor Don Miron. It wasn't until after World War I that Yiddish literature was widely perceived as possessing its own "Klasiker." This talk will explore the dynamics of the change from a literature without a canon to one that embraced a notion of "classicicity," defined by modern Yiddish writers and critics largely to differentiate their modernity from what had preceded it.
