Description
Taiwan's highest grossing domestic film of all time (and second only to Titanic in overall receipts) boasts a setup that could only fly in pop cinema: a misanthropic mailman is recruited by crooked resort town politicos to front a hastily assembled rock band that is slated to perform at a beach party. Between rehearsals, he delivers some WWII-era dead letters and falls for a Japanese model assigned to act as the band’s Kim Fowley.
