This talk will introduce the concepts of Scandinavian Design, Swedish Modern, Danish Contemporary and more, and discuss what constitutes the Scandinavian Tradition of Design. It also will touch on the American reception of Scandinavian design and the many cases of copying. The speaker will attempt to answer the question, “Why is Scandinavian Design such a huge success?” by relating it to Scandinavian nature and personalities.
