Description
This is a Humanities Without Boundaries event, the flagship program of the Center for the Humanities. Mary Zimmerman will discuss aspects of her work on the adaptation of epic, ancient texts for the stage. Zimmerman is a playwright and director of theater and opera as well as professor of performance studies at Northwestern University. She is the winner of a 1998 MacArthur Fellowship, as well as the 2002 Tony Award for Best Direction in her adaptation of Ovid's Metamorphoses.
