"It Can't Happen Here"

On Oct. 27,1936, the play "It Can't Happen Here" opened in theaters across the country. “No one agreed on the play,” Hallie Flanagan told an audience some months later, “but everyone had to see it. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the opening night of the original play, there will be a reading of the play in the Mitchell Theatre. It will feature members of the faculty as well as community members. With this presentation, Madison joins a nationwide reading of the play set for that day.
