Music of India - Workshop

This workshop will be conducted by two legends of South Indian (Carnatic) Classical Music: Chitravina Ravikiran (on chitravina, a fretless lute) and Trichy Sankaran (mridangam). In a highly interactive format, the artists will introduce the basics of Carnatic music - raagas (notation) and taalam (rhythmic cycles). The level of the workshop will evolve based on audience response. No prior knowledge of classical music is required to attend this event.
