Weston Roundtable

The debate about anthropogenic climate change has become the focal point of an on-going clash between the modern and the Green worldviews. I examine this debate in terms of a model of cultural development, according to which the Green worldview must not only transcend but also include the noble aspects of the modern worldview. Otherwise, little progress can be made toward finding the common ground needed to foster alternatives to a carbon-based economy.
