Description
Dr. Santana is a UW-Madison alumnus, now a professor at the Universidad de Guadalajara and adjunct professor at the UW Department of Forestry and Wildlife Ecology. His professional and life passions have been studying bird ecology in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, México and the USA, and supporting the management of its natural protected areas. He was instrumental in the creation of the Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve, and the formation of the first local watershed governance scheme in Mexico.
