Caroline VanSickle reviews previous studies' contradicting conclusions of how Neandertals gave birth, then describe the systematic methodology she used to test the null hypothesis that female Neandertal and recent human pelves do not differ in shape. She will end by discussing how her results relate to Neandertal birth, and what this means for the study of women in human evolution more generally.
