We have always engineered solutions to make our lives easier on body and mind. Today's concern about sustainability stems from the current scale and scope of engineered solutions and a virtual absence of any restraint that can limit our aspirations. We continue to assume more engineered solutions in our march forward. Our speaker will identify the challenges in reinventing a human-scale approach to engineering, and outline our recent work in the area of microgrids in this context.
