Wednesday Nite @ The Lab

The lecture will focus on a study that examines the experience of domestic violence from the perspective of survivors. In-depth, qualitative interviews were conducted with women survivors of violence to explore their help-seeking and coping mechanisms, as well as the role of criminal justice, healthcare, and social services in responding to violence. The results indicate that a culture of gender inequality and the acceptance of gender violence in Kyrgyzstan are primary barriers to help-seeking.
