Entomology Colloquium
Dr. Bobbi Peckarsky speaks on "Effects of climate change on stream organisms"
Event Details
Date

Time

Location
Description
Investigations at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory have revealed the potential for increasing temperatures and extreme hydrologic events to negatively affect plants, insects and trout in high elevation streams of western Colorado. Earlier snowmelt affects insect populations, reduces growth rates of trout, and facilitates transmission of whirling disease of trout by causing proliferation of a nuisance diatom that provides more favorable habitat for intermediate hosts (tubificids).
