Africa at Noon with Jason Vargo and Jonathan Patz

As populations flock to new and expanding cities throughout the continent, the need for sufficient and appropriate urban infrastructure, as well as properly trained and equipped planners become ever more important. Through this work – a partnership between UW-Madison and municipal leaders in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia – we intend to help Bahir Dar position itself as a leader for smart, healthy urbanization within the region and throughout the continent.
