Description
Professor Hartry Field will articulate a kind of "evaluativist" view of epistemology , and contrast it with both normative realist views and reliabilist views. Among other things, he will discuss how it deals with certain forms of skepticism, and how it allows for fundamental revision in epistemic practices (deductive, inductive and perceptual).
Professor Hartry Field is Silver Professor of Philosophy at New York University. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Harvard University.
