Bree Newsome - Tearing Hate from the Sky

Bree Newsome is the community organizer and activist who removed the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House. The iconic picture of her on the pole, flag in hand, has become a touchstone of empowerment for disenfranchised people around the world. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Bree is also an award-winning filmmaker, writer, composer, and singer who believes in art as activism.
