Description
Aristotle considers a puzzle from Plato’s Lysis: can bad people be friends? Aristotle seems to offer an affirmative response. Bad people can be friends on account of pleasure, but they can't participate in complete friendship based on virtue of character. Aristotle seems to suggest bad people cannot be friends, for they do not even love themselves. Bad people can very well become friends, but their friendships, like their own characters, lack stability; they cannot, after all, be friends.
