Global Health Tuesday: Non-communicable Diseases, Climate Change and Development in Africa

Alexis Nizigiyimana, M.D., founded the Burundi chapter of the Young Professional Chronic Diseases Network. He will discuss the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. He will explore access to essential medicines, the links to climate change, and the way forward. Nizigiyimana is also a member of this year's contingent of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders
