Description
Consider the glaciers that were here 25,000 years ago as David Mickelson, professor emeritus of Geoscience, talks about geology on a walk to Picnic Point entrance. Meet at Chamberlin Rock, next to Washburn Observatory, 1401 Observatory Drive. Park on the street, at UW parking lot 26 behind the Soils Building, lot 34 at Tripp Hall, or at Picnic Point (lot 129) and walk up. Sponsored by the Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve.
