					Description

As winter sets in, smaller ponds and lakes in south-central Wisconsin freeze, causing migrating birds to become concentrated on Madison's large lakes, which remain open longer. This trip has produced some unusual sightings, including red-throated loons, so don't miss it! Dress warmly and bring a scope if you have one. Meet at the north end of Walnut Street. Co-sponsored by Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve and Madison Audubon. Leader: Quentin Yoerger, 255-2473 (info@madisonaudubon.org).
