Sarah Stillman is a staff writer at The New Yorker, where she covers criminal justice,immigration, and other social-policy issues. She also is Director of the Global Migration Project at Columbia Journalism School, where she leads team investigations into immigration and refugee issues, including the rise of private immigration detention facilities. In 2016, she received a MacArthur Foundation "genius" award.
