Gender & Women’s Studies Colloquium Series

What differentiates an archive from an activist archive? How might activist archives produce feminist interventions? This talk explores the creation of a digital activist archive devoted to understanding the ways feminists in South Asia use poster work, performance, and material art to address social and political exigencies. In this talk, Professor Garlough will examine the creative process by which this research group has worked to protect these important materials that unite activism and art.
