World Percussion Ensemble

The UW World Percussion ensemble performs music from Cuba and Brazil as well as two pan-global drumming works that combine Middle Eastern and Indian percussion techniques and styles. Styles performed from Cuba include rumba and three Bantu traditional styles. The ensemble will close the program with Northern and Southern styles from Brazil focusing on Maracatu from Pernambuco.
