Tavia Nyong'o, Professor of African American Studies, American Studies, and Theater Studies at Yale University, will present his research that takes the 1957 MGM film, "Something of Value," a film that allegorically maps Native North American resistance onto East African anti-colonial resistance, as a starting point to consider the intersection of black and indigenous studies today. The lecture is presented by the Center for Visual Cultures.
