Ibrahim Mahama is a Ghanaian contemporary artist and founder of the Savanah Center for Contemporary Art. His work has been at Documenta14 in 2017 and the Venice Biennale in 2015, 2017, and 2019. With the collaboration of an ever-expanding network of people he has created large scale public interventions sewing together worn jute sack, exploring the poetics of labor and the spectral politics of global trade as engraved in the failure and resilience of materials and structures.
