TASC Info Session and Technical Talks

This will be an interesting session to learn about TASC (a Madison company) as a company and hear two brief technical talks on current projects in the company:

1. State Management in Web Applications Using Akita – Presented by Roger Martin
   Modern web applications require the management of large amounts of dynamic information. We'll briefly review the various options for state management and then dig deeper into Akita, a newcomer on the scene but growing in popularity.
   
   Roger Martin is a Senior Software Developer and Technical Lead at TASC. He has twenty five years of experience writing full stack web applications using a variety of technologies. These days it’s mostly Angular on the front end and AWS on the back end. He lives in Boulder, CO.

2. Mobile Apps using Amazon's Cloud – Presented by Jim Brandon
   Over the last few years Amazon has emerged as a leader in Cloud computing with AWS - Amazon Web Services.  Today I will talk about how we are using AWS to build state of the art mobile apps.
   * AWS Basics - functions, user pools, databases, security all in the cloud
   * AWS Cool Stuff - scalability, deployment, notifications, machine learning
   * AWS and Mobile - mobile SDKs
   
   Jim Brandon is a Senior Software Developer and Technical Team Lead for TASC.  He has over 30 years of development experience. Jim is also an entrepreneur and has founded or co-founded three successful companies.
