David Wassarman, professor, UW–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health studied at Yale University and conducted his postdoctoral research at the University of California–Berkeley. He joined the UW faculty in 2001, and his lab has used fruit flies to understand the molecular events that lead to neurodegeneration in human diseases. His recent efforts have focused on the genetic basis of neurodegeneration in traumatic brain injury.
