Description
The idea of fairyland had a natural affinity with the late-19th century taste for intricate patterns, lush textures and saturated color, and crazy quilts, with their kaleidoscopic fabrics, beguiling images and fine embroidery, represented an over-the-rainbow fairyland of beauty, pleasure and delight. Curated by Beverly Gordon and including crazy quilts from the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection and the International Quilt Study Center in Lincoln, Neb.
