Archaeology Brown Bag Lecture Series (VIRTUAL)

In the Petén Lakes region of northern Guatemala, the small site of Muralla de León sits perched atop a steep rise and encircled by a monumental stone wall whose initial form dates to the early years of the Late Preclassic. The site furthermore shows evidence of occupation and construction activity continuing at least to the Late Postclassic period and possibly as late as the early 1700s.
