The UWSO Strings perform a program focused on the string quartet. Opening the evening is one of Dmitri Shostakovich’s most personal compositions, his String Quartet No. 8 arranged as Chamber Symphony Op. 110a. Following, it is complimented by the calm sonorities of Entr’acte by Caroline Shaw.

The concert concludes with Edward Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for String Quartet and String Orchestra featuring the extraordinary Pro Arte Quartet as soloists.
