Description
Originally titled "The Jew," Universal's "His People" (1925) tells the story of Rabbi Cominsky and his two sons, Morris and Sammy. A peddler on New York's Lower East Side, Cominksy loves his older, more studious Morris more, failing to recognize the devoted loyalty of the boxer Sammy. The restored 16mm print (National Center for Jewish Film, Brandeis) will be accompanied by internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Marilyn Lerner (http://www.marilynlerner.com/).
