Description
This talk will introduce the perception, care and preferred treatment of Hmong American elders with chronic confusion (i.e., dementia). Ideas about care giving, a model of traditional values for the younger generation, the perceived cause of chronic confusion, and the traditional spiritual needs of the elder in determining health seeking behaviors, as well as how these findings can be used to develop family-based education programs with the Hmong American community, will be presented.
