This half-day symposium brings together four historians of postwar Germany and four historians of postwar Japan to explore the little-examined entanglements between the two fields. How did former collaborators in National Socialism and Japanese Imperialism navigate the politics of occupation and democratization? To what extent did fascist and anti-fascist networks forged between Germany and Japan survive into the postwar period?
