Description
The ‘house’ is one of the constructed spaces—along with the hearth, the monument, and the grave—around which complex human meanings orbit. As a pivotal topos in the human experience, ‘house’ and ‘home’ are points of convergence for a wide range of academic inquiries spanning the social sciences and humanities, including archaeology... I question these assumptions, arguing that household archaeology must put the house back into household archaeology.
