Anna-Lena Deppenmeier is a physical oceanographer and climate scientist working in the National Center for
Atmospheric Research (NCAR) with a research focus on tropical air-sea interactions. This talk will discuss the eastern tropical Pacific cold tongue and the diabatic processes of water mass transformation (WMT) in the cold tongue region and analysis of WMT enhancement during cold events.
