Greg Hakim is Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington. His research seeks to understand what the climate is doing now and will do in the future by reconstructing what it did in the past. This talk will focus on a globally gridded climate reanalysis for the last 1000 years, the Last Millennium Reanalysis (LMR), which combines information from climate models and paleoclimate proxy measurements, and examine the use of LMR for evaluating aspects of climate variability durin
