The Dept. of Anthropology has led UW's efforts to ensure campus compliance with the Native American Graves Protection & Repatriation Act in collaboration with other departments & tribal advisors. In this presentation the many different stages and facets of the NAGPRA compliance process will be discussed in the context of both its legal mandates & social expectations. The ultimate goal is to develop an effective path toward pursing "the spirit of the law" through communication & collaboration.
