AOS Colloquium Series - Bill Smith

Dr. Bill Smith, AOS professor emeritus, is a pioneer in satellite atmospheric sounding. In this talk, Dr. Smith will trace the history of the satellite sounding evolution from the 60-year perspective that he has gained by working on the improvement of the satellite sounding observations and their applications. He will also provide a summary of preparations at CIMSS/SSEC for the application of the next generation of polar and geostationary orbiting satellite sounding observations.
